ECT: English Teacher – Launch Your Career with a Focus on Literacy Development and Nurturing Induction – Havering
A nurturing and supportive secondary school in Havering is seeking an enthusiastic ECT of English (Year 1 or 2) with a focus on literacy development from January 2026.
- ECT: English Teacher required from January 2026
- Havering-based school with a supportive ECT programme and literacy focus
- Ideal for a graduate seeking structured mentoring and a focus on improving foundational skills.
You'll teach KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature with a reduced timetable and a dedicated mentor. The induction is highly structured , focusing on mastering effective literary and linguistic instruction, and contributing to the whole-school literacy development strategy.
Experience and Qualifications
- QTS or completing final training in English or a relevant literary/linguistic field
- High commitment to literacy improvement and engaging lesson delivery
- Willingness to fully engage with the school's structured weekly coaching cycle
- Excellent potential for strong classroom presence and effective instruction
