Perfect Recruitment are currently recruiting for an established recycling and logistics business in the Blackburn area for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a specialist driving opportunity suited to an experienced HGV driver with a strong background in 44t Artic, Moffett and Hook & Drag RORO operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe collection and delivery of containers and recyclable materials from customer and supplier sites, ensuring vehicles, equipment and loads are operated safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.

Working Hours
• Monday to Thursday: 5:00am–3:00pm
• Friday: 5:00am–2:00pm
• 1-hour unpaid lunch break each day
• On occasion, slightly earlier starts or later finishes may be required depending on the needs of the business
• Drivers do not normally work Saturdays, although there may be an occasional requirement to do so

The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:
• Safely operating 44t Artic vehicles
• Operating Moffett equipment for loading and unloading
• Driving and operating 26t Rigid vehicles when required
• Carrying out Hook Lift and Drag RORO operations
• Working with open and enclosed bins
• Carrying out compactor bin installation
• Delivering and collecting containers and recyclable materials from customer and supplier sites
• Safely discharging materials from vehicles and containers
• Carrying out daily and weekly checks on vehicles, trailers and containers
• Ensuring vehicles, trailers, containers and loads are roadworthy and secure
• Reporting any vehicle, equipment or container damage and completing relevant defect documentation
• Maintaining accurate tachograph and driver records
• Complying with drivers' hours, tachograph legislation and all relevant transport regulations
• Following company health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers, suppliers and colleagues
• Working independently and managing your workload effectively
• Supporting the wider operation with other reasonable duties when required

About You
We're looking for a reliable and experienced HGV driver who takes pride in their work and can demonstrate a strong track record within the transport industry.

Essential requirements:
• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Proven experience operating 44t Artics
• Proven Moffett experience
• Experience operating 26t Rigids
• Proven Hook Lift and Drag RORO experience
• Experience with open and enclosed bins and/or compactor bin installation
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Valid DCPC / CPC qualification
• No more than 6 points on your driving licence
• No DR, DG, DD or IN endorsements
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph legislation
• Strong commitment to health & safety
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual and able to work unsupervised
• Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements
