The Role

We're casting 5 physical theatre performers to bring a pigeon commuter character to life through movement and physicality inside a full costume (lightweight head + suit), to promote the opening of Wake The Tiger's new immersive art experience in London.

Our pigeons are London commuters through and through - checking watches, weaving through crowds with briefcases in hand, tutting at delays, and scanning the horizon for a platform that isn't there. Performers will move fluidly between rehearsed "commuter bits" and improvised, in-character interactions with the public: offering (deliberately unhelpful, always charming) directions, striking a pose for photos, nudging shoppers into a moment of everyday absurdity.

The role calls for strong physical characterisation and confident improvisation - you'll be reading the crowd as much as performing set movement, keeping the character alive and responsive throughout each shift.

The activation runs outside Westfield Shopping Centre, Shepherd's Bush, 22-28 July 2026.

What we are looking for:
Movement-trained performers - dance, physical theatre, or similar - comfortable performing in character inside a full costume for extended periods. Strong improvisation and audience-interaction skills are a plus. This is a non-speaking role.

We welcome performers of any ethnicity, age or gender - the only requirement is that you're physically comfortable with the demands of the role (full costume, extended periods on your feet, movement-based performance).

Costume:
We'll provide the pigeon head (lightweight headpiece) and suit. If you have your own suit, that's a bonus - let us know. Please provide your measurements (height, chest/bust, waist, hip, shoe size) so we can fit you correctly.

Footwear:
Please bring your own formal shoes that you can still move comfortably in - you'll need to perform in them on your shifts.

Pay:
£30/hour

Five roles available.
