Job Introduction
Join us as we Launch a brand-new residential rehabilitation and recovery service supporting 14 people on their recovery journey.
At Turning Point, we believe that recovery is possible for everyone. As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting people to identify their strengths, achieve their goals, build resilience, and move towards greater independence and wellbeing.
You will provide personalised, recovery-focused support that enables people to take control of their lives, develop confidence, and build meaningful futures within their communities. Through compassionate, person-centred practice, you will help people recognise their abilities, overcome barriers, and make positive changes at a pace that works for them.
About the Service
The Stewarts is a new residential rehabilitation and recovery support for up to 14 people experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
The service supports adults aged 18 and over who require a structured, therapeutic environment to progress on their recovery journey. We recognise that people's experiences are unique, and many individuals accessing the service may have additional support needs, including co-existing substance use or mild learning disabilities. Each referral is assessed individually to ensure that we can provide the most appropriate and effective support.
The Stewarts is a purpose-built service that promotes independence and skill development, offering individual rooms alongside welcoming communal living spaces, dining areas, and kitchens where residents can develop and maintain daily living skills.
This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns, including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Main Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
- Support individuals to develop and achieve meaningful recovery goals identified within their personalised support plans.
- Support the development of daily living skills, including budgeting, meal preparation, self-care, tenancy management, and community engagement.
- Encourage social inclusion, community participation, and the development of positive support networks.
- Work alongside healthcare professionals, families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver holistic support.
- Contribute to risk management, safeguarding, and positive risk-taking approaches that promote independence while maintaining safety.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to support reviews and outcome planning.
Many individuals accessing The Stewarts have complex needs, including co-existing mental health and substance use difficulties. You will therefore play a key role in delivering flexible, compassionate, and trauma-informed support that recognises each person's unique recovery journey.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people to achieve their recovery goals and reach their full potential.
You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge, experience and values essential to working in the mental health sector.
We are looking for some experience in the mental health sector, and that you will have a good understanding of the recovery model, together with a solution–focused attitude and a person–centred approach.
Most importantly, you will share our values and have a commitment to helping people build fulfilling, meaningful, and independent lives.
