About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Middleton is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. You will provide targeted interventions, support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, and help create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. The role may also involve supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive within school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality classroom support across the curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to improve pupil progress.
• Support pupils with additional needs, adapting learning activities where required.
• Assist with the planning and preparation of learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional wellbeing.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other members of staff to meet individual pupil needs.
• Contribute to assessment, observations, and record-keeping where appropriate.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

The Successful Applicant Will

• Hold a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
• Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Be confident supporting pupils across a range of abilities, including those with SEND.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be patient, proactive, and committed to helping children achieve their potential.
• Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time.

Desirable

• Experience delivering intervention programmes in English and Maths.
• Knowledge of phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
• Paediatric First Aid or relevant safeguarding training.
