Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Teacher of Maths to work in a secondary school in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Maths specialist to join a supportive department, deliver high-quality teaching and encourage pupils to develop both their mathematical skills and confidence.

Teacher of Maths Role:

The successful Teacher of Maths will plan and deliver well-structured lessons across the secondary Maths curriculum, supporting pupils with a range of abilities. You will use effective questioning, differentiation and assessment to challenge learners appropriately, address misconceptions and help pupils make sustained academic progress.

Teacher of Maths Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons aligned with curriculum requirements and pupils' learning needs.
* Develop pupils' mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills and confidence.
* Use a range of teaching strategies, questioning and practical examples to make mathematical concepts accessible.
* Differentiate learning activities to support and challenge pupils of varying abilities.
* Assess pupils' work, provide constructive feedback and use assessment to inform future planning.
* Establish high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement while creating a positive classroom environment.

Teacher of Maths Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and confidence teaching across the secondary age range.
* Previous experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting is desirable.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage pupils.
* A flexible, reflective and enthusiastic approach, with a commitment to high standards and pupil progress.
* An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
