North Lanarkshire Council's Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) service is dedicated to ensuring the care, wellbeing, and positive development of young children.

We are currently recruiting 3 x Early Learning & Childcare Support Worker’s on a 30hrs per week on a Term Time basis at the following location:

Baird Memorial Primary School & Nursery Class, Early Years Unit, Cumbernauld

The Unit is a specialist nursery provision for children aged 3–5 with additional support needs and complex communication, learning and developmental needs. It is part of Baird Memorial Primary School in Condorrat and provides highly individualised support in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals.

You will be a proactive and valued member of the ELC team, supporting and nurturing children through engaging and stimulating learning experiences. You will contribute to delivering a high-quality, child-centred service that meets the individual needs of young children and their families.

The role involves actively supporting the planning, development, and co-ordination of learning programmes within the ELC setting, ensuring positive outcomes for all children.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with children, parents, carers, colleagues and partner professionals.

Applicants do not require experience working within an ELC environment but should have a keen interest in this area and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning and development.

Successful candidates will be required to register and comply with the registration requirements for Support Worker Level with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required. Applicants who are not currently members must be willing to join the scheme and obtain a satisfactory scheme record or scheme record update.

Work Pattern:

3x 30 hour posts- Monday until Friday.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
