Hygiene Operatives Required - Alfreton, Derbyshire
We are currently recruiting Hygiene Operatives to join a well-established and growing food production company in Alfreton, Derbyshire . As a Hygiene Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the production facility, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety regulations.

- Days & Afternoons: £13.27 per hour
- Nights: £15.77 per hour
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a rotating 3-shift system :
- Days
- Afternoons
- Nights
Monday to Friday working schedule
Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire
Pay Rate: £13.27 per hour (Days & Afternoons) | £15.77 per hour (Nights)
Hours: Full Time, Temporary ongoing
Shift Pattern: Rotating 3 Shift System (Days 0600 -1400 , Afternoons 1400 - 2200 and Nights Sun to Thurs 2200-0600)
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Working Nights: Sun to Thursday
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitising food production equipment and machinery.
- Deep cleaning production areas, workstations, and factory environments.
- Following strict food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Completing cleaning records and documentation accurately.
- Ensuring all hygiene standards comply with company and industry regulations.
- Supporting production teams in maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Adhering to Health & Safety policies at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative, Industrial Cleaner, Factory Cleaner, Production Cleaner, or Cleaning Operative is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within food manufacturing, food production, FMCG, warehousing, or industrial environments is advantageous.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices is beneficial.
- Own transport may be advantageous due to shift start and finish times.
