Summary
Monmouthshire County Council is on the lookout for a seasoned Social Care Trainer to enhance the skills of the Social Care and Health workforce throughout the county. This pivotal role involves crafting, managing, and executing top-notch learning and development programs that empower social care professionals to deliver exceptional services, fostering the independence and well-being of residents. The position requires close collaboration with Workforce Development Officers and the Training Organiser to implement training initiatives that align with Social Care Wales priorities, legal standards, and workforce development needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and execute dynamic learning and development programs.
- Innovate training methods and learning solutions.
- Provide training on a broad spectrum of social care topics.
- Enhance workforce development in both Adult and Children's Social Care sectors.
- Facilitate learning through in-person, virtual, and e-learning platforms.
- Aid the workforce in improving literacy, numeracy, ICT, and essential social care skills.
- Assess, review, and refine training programs continuously.
- Organize training events, manage venues, attendance records, and related administration.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regional entities.
- Assist with Social Care Wales registration and re-registration processes.
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all training activities.
- Maintain training documentation and contribute to workforce development reporting.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in delivering training, learning and development, or workforce development programs.
- Background in Social Care, Health, Learning & Development, or Workforce Development settings.
- Strong skills in presentation, facilitation, and communication.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences using various learning methods.
- Experience in designing and developing training materials.
- Proficient IT, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent skills in relationship-building and stakeholder engagement.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development.
Mandatory

- Willingness to travel across Monmouthshire and beyond as needed.
- Flexibility to occasionally conduct training sessions during evenings or weekends.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Social Care Wales standards and workforce requirements.
- Experience in training delivery within Adult Social Care or Children's Services.
- Understanding of social care legislation and workforce development frameworks.
- Proficiency in the Welsh language.
