WEEKLY TOTAL: £621 — made up of £555 basic pay + £66 holiday pay.

APN Recruitment is recruiting a Metal Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker/ Welder to join an established manufacturing business in Redditch.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who knows how to work with metal and takes pride in making things accurately.

We are interested in people from a broad range of backgrounds, including metal work, sheet metal, fabrication, aluminium fabrication, welding and practical engineering or manufacturing.

You do not need to be an experienced welder to be considered.

If you already have good practical metalworking skills, the company is happy to train and develop the right person in its specific fabrication and welding processes.

The work

Depending on your existing experience, your work may include:

• Measuring and marking out metal components
• Cutting and drilling
• Linishing, grinding, deburring and finishing
• Forming, bending or rolling metal
• Fabricating and assembling aluminium and other metal components
• Working from drawings, templates and specifications
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
• Checking dimensions and finished quality
• MIG welding and related processes where appropriate
• Learning additional fabrication and welding skills as you develop

The company manufactures a wide range of bespoke products, so this role is particularly suited to somebody who enjoys practical work, variety and making things properly, rather than highly repetitive production.

You should have genuine professional hands-on experience working with metal in a manufacturing, fabrication or engineering environment.

Your background might include some of the following:

• Metal fabrication or sheet metal work
• Aluminium fabrication
• Marking out and measuring
• Cutting and drilling
• Linishing
• Grinding, deburring or metal finishing
• Press brake, forming, bending or rolling
• Fabrication or mechanical assembly
• MIG or other welding processes
• Working from technical drawings or specifications

You should also:

• Be comfortable using workshop hand and power tools
• Take pride in producing accurate work
• Have good attention to detail
• Be reliable
• Be willing to learn new processes
• Be able to work the rotating shift pattern

If you are a capable metal worker but haven’t yet had the opportunity to develop your welding skills, we still want to hear from you. If you are a skilled welder, fabricator that's also perfect!

Hours

Rotating weekly shifts:

6:00am–2:00pm
2:00pm–10:00pm
