Position: Class Teacher (Subject knowledge in Art and Science preferable)

Hours: 40 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: Up to £36,000 per annum DOE
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our specialist team, ideally with subject knowledge in Art and Science preferable. You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons to students with SEMH needs who require an alternative to mainstream education.
This is more than a teaching role; it is a chance to inspire and re-engage young people through sensitivity, adaptability, and creative instruction.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To maintain an up to date understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEND) principles, definitions and basic practice. This includes an awareness of the roles and responsibilities of those who contribute to SEN programmes.
To effectively Co-ordinate the work within the nurturing classes covering Art and Science, including planning for the classes and recording their data.
To communicate and consult with parents/carers and other appropriate people, participating in student focused meetings as required.
Being familiar with curriculum requirements and making full use of assessment information to develop, adapt and evaluate teaching strategies to give maximum benefit to students with SEN.
Identifying appropriate learning outcomes and developing a range of approaches which reduce barriers arising from impairments and help students to attain achievable targets.
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to make best use of expertise.

Linton School is an independent special school who caters for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are located in Freckleton, near Preston, and therefore benefit from some amazing outdoor space where we develop an extensive outdoor curriculum which includes farming, equestrian, horticulture and small animal care. The school provides full time education for up to 12 male or female students aged between 8 - 18 years old. Linton School aims to nurture pupils by offering quality learning experiences so that they can be the best they can be. Pupils are given the opportunity to learn and develop in a supportive and creative environment, ensuring that they feel safe and happy to progress and achieve. We are looking to expand the school to 20 young people, keeping it a small nurturing environment, adding just 2 extra classrooms, therefore having the need for extra teaching staff.
