Pastoral Officer - September Start!

£450 - £600 per week
Full-time

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Pastoral Officer to support pupils with SEMH in one of our inspirational Alternative Provisions in Hartlepool to start in September 2026 on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the School:

  • The role is based in an inspirational Alternative Provision in Hartlepool.
  • The School supports pupils aged 11-18 with varying levels of SEMH who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School.
  • The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Pay - Between £95-120 per day
  • Hours - 08.30-15.30. Full-time
  • Contract - Temporary to Permanent Contract
  • Start Date - ASAP
  • Location - Hartlepool

About the Role:

  • In this role you will be supporting the operational leadership of the pastoral system across the academy with the aim of raising the aspirations/self-esteem and attendance of students as well as supporting the development of enrichment activities which contribute to students' emotional and academic development.
  • You will also liaise with staff, parents, other education institutions and multi-agency partners to support students' progress and overall development.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
  • Experience of working with children with SEMH and challenging behaviour
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • Experience within a PRU and Alternative Provision setting
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
