Autism Support Worker

Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £92 - £110 per day Support, encourage and empower young people to achieve their potential. GSL Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join a specialist education setting in Scarborough on a full-time basis from September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC) and a range of additional learning and communication needs. You'll work alongside a dedicated team to help pupils develop confidence, independence and essential life skills within a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. As an Autism Support Worker, you will: * Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism and additional learning needs.
* Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs and social interaction.
* Help implement personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
* Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement throughout the school day.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
* Promote a calm, safe and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
* Support with personal care where required. We're looking for someone who: * Has experience supporting children or young people with Autism, SEND or additional needs in education, care or support settings.
* Has a patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
* Understands the importance of routine, structure and positive behaviour support.
* Can build trusting relationships and communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and families.
* Is committed to helping every child achieve their individual goals.
* Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
