SEN Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the Basingstoke area . This role involves working with children who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social or emotional needs.
You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent and tailored support , helping pupils access lessons, remain engaged, and develop confidence throughout the school day. Support may be delivered both 1:1 and in small groups , depending on the needs of the students.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils who require additional guidance to succeed.
The Role:- Provide 1:1 support and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN
- Support pupils throughout lessons, activities, and daily routines
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support
- Help adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
- Encourage confidence, independence, and participation
- Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
- Maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Calm, patient, and supportive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build trust and strong relationships with pupils
- Adaptable and responsive to changing needs
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in SEN, care, youth work, or support roles welcomed

- Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
- Pay Rate: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
- SEN or child‑support experience desirable
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Knowledge of SEN support strategies beneficial
- Free accredited CPD , including safeguarding & behaviour management
- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
