In a teaching role at Nottingham College you will play a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. We are Nottingham’s College and together, we make a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Who we need

Nottingham College is seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Electrical Lecturer to join the Engineering and Electrical team. This is an opportunity to support the delivery and continued development of electrical curriculum across full-time study programmes and apprenticeship provision.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Level 2 and Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical qualifications, supporting learners and apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful progression into the electrical industry.

This role will involve teaching classroom-based theory and practical workshop sessions, with a strong focus on electrical installation, electrical principles, health and safety, inspection and testing, professional standards, and preparation for progression into employment, apprenticeships and End Point Assessment. Key responsibilities include:

· Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications, including City & Guilds programmes.

· Support the delivery of electrical content within Level 3 apprenticeship standards, including Installation and Maintenance Electrician pathways where appropriate.

· Plan and deliver structured theory and practical sessions that develop learners’ technical knowledge, workshop competence and professional behaviours.

· Support learners with electrical principles, installation methods, health and safety, wiring regulations, inspection and testing, fault-finding and industry expectations.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual with strong electrical industry experience who can confidently support and inspire learners at both Level 2 and Level 3. You will hold a recognised electrical qualification at Level 3 or above and bring sound knowledge of electrical installation practices, including health and safety, safe isolation, installation methods and current industry standards.

With experience or familiarity with City & Guilds Electrical qualifications, you will be able to deliver both theoretical and practical learning clearly and effectively. You’ll have the ability to support a diverse range of learners, including full-time students and apprentices, adapting your approach to meet individual needs. Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills are essential, alongside a genuine commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and ensuring every learner makes meaningful progress.
