Apple Mews Care Home is looking to recruit a female Support Worker to join their team.
This is a full-time or Part-time role - Shifts: 8 am – 8 pm, 8 pm to 8 am, 8 am to 2 pm. Minimum 24 hours per week (2 shifts) Pay Rate: £13:45 Per Hour Apple Mews is located in the city of Armagh, in Northern Ireland. Our home offers residential and nursing support for 30 adults with a range of needs. This includes people with a learning disability, individuals with physical health needs, and autistic people. Our team are dedicated to creating a safe, homely environment for every person we care for. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. What you'll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal carePerform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities

A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
