Technical Architect - Digital & Public Services TransformationA growing digital consultancy working across complex public sector environments is seeking a Technical Architect to support the design and delivery of modern, user-centred digital services.This role sits at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and stakeholder engagement-ideal for someone who enjoys shaping solutions while working hands-on with multidisciplinary teams.Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must either hold current SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance .The RoleAs a Technical Architect, you will play a critical role in designing scalable, secure, and user-focused technology solutions for high-impact programmes.You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them make informed technical decisions while supporting delivery teams to bring architecture to life.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & DesignDesign end-to-end technical architectures for complex digital services and software solutionsProduce high-quality artefacts including architecture diagrams, models, and technical documentationConduct technical assessments and provide clear, practical recommendationsEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to user needsGovernance & AssuranceLead architecture through governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise, data, and security standardsReview and assure designs from internal teams and client stakeholdersPromote architectural best practices and consistency across deliveryDelivery & LeadershipLead work-streams or smaller engagements within broader programmesContribute to technical road-maps and agile delivery planningProvide ongoing technical oversight and direction to delivery teamsStakeholder EngagementBuild strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology functionsFacilitate architectural decision-making and communicate complex ideas clearlyTranslate technical concepts for non-technical audiencesInternal ContributionSupport the development of junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharingContribute to bids, proposals, and broader capability developmentStay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trendsAbout YouEssential ExperienceStrong background in designing architecture for complex digital systemsExperience with enterprise systems, APIs/integration, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Proven ability to produce and review architecture artefacts using modelling approaches (e.g. C4, UML, ArchiMate)Experience working across the full delivery life cycle in agile environmentsStrong stakeholder engagement skills across both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience navigating architecture governance and assurance processesBackground working in consulting or client-facing environmentsTechnology -agnostic approach with a focus on delivering the right outcomeUnderstanding of user-centred design principles in technical deliveryDesirableExperience working within public sector or government frameworks and standardsFamiliarity with common public sector platforms and assessment modelsExperience working in distributed, multidisciplinary teamsEligibility for or holding security clearance (SC)Key SkillsBridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrategic thinking and contribution to organisational directionSystems analysis and architectural problem solvingGovernance, assurance, and quality oversightUser-focused solution designManaging delivery across the full product life cycleSupporting procurement and supplier discussionsLeading solution architecture aligned with standards and best practiceIf you're looking to create and impact in digital services within complex, mission-driven environments while maintaining a high degree of autonomy and influence, this opportunity offers the scope to do both.Reasonable Adjustments:Respect and equality are core values to us.
