The Role
- Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse SEMH needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation and personal development alongside academic progress
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including pastoral staff and SEN professionals
- Use creative, practical, and experiential learning strategies
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or strong unqualified experience in specialist settings
- Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision (essential)
- Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management strategies
- A calm, patient, and reflective approach to teaching
- Commitment to inclusive education and trauma-informed practice
- Confidence delivering Science in a flexible, non-mainstream setting
- Small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios
- A supportive, values-led working environment
