Would you like to work for a growing local business that has the job security of being part of a multi-billion-pound global industrial manufacturer. Due to gaining more customers and future growth plans, they are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their team.

Role & responsibilities of a maintenance engineer:

• Carry out reactive maintenance & repairs of all production machinery, industrial processing equipment, site services & utilities
• Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts, drives
• Follow PPM schedules, continuous improvement projects
• Electrical – PLC fault finding, repair & wiring control panels, switches, sensors, contactors
• Mechanical – fabrication, fitting, welding, manual machining to make parts/repairs

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a maintenance engineer:

• Ideally be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
• Apprenticeship trained
• Qualified – NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in engineering
• Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
• Team player and positive character
• Worked on hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives

• Electrical biased skills – PLC fault finding, wiring / repairs control panels, sensors, switches
• Mechanical biased skills – fabrication, fitting, welding, machining – milling, turning, grinding, lathes
