Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with Service Users by acting in a supportive, empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment
  • Support Service Users to manage their mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Support people in their daily routines, from meal prep and laundry to emotional wellbeing.
  • Deliver personal care and medication support where needed.
  • Promote independence through gentle encouragement and practical problem solving.
  • Link people with local services, activities, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Be a steady presence through both the good and challenging days.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
  • Working knowledge of using IT systems.

Further Information

The role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
