The Home and Community Safety Team is a small, supportive team within Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service. The team delivers Safe and Well visits to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities and supports wider fire safety education across Oxfordshire.
About the Role
The Prevention Administrative Support role provides efficient and effective administrative support to the Prevention Team, acting as a first point of contact for Safe and Well visit requests and fire-related safeguarding concerns from professionals and members of the public. You will help prioritise requests linked to vulnerability and ensure they are processed accurately and within agreed timescales. The role will also provide resilience and support to the safeguarding function.
About You
This is a key role where your organisation, communication and customer service skills will directly support work to reduce risk and improve safety for vulnerable residents.
You will be a person who can build excellent working relationships with professionals and members of the public. You will be a highly organised individual who is self-motivated, with good IT skills and be competent with Microsoft Office application. Be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English A-C or equivalent score of 4.
We are looking for someone who can provide efficient first-class customer service to all.

Face-to-face interviews will be held on 9 September 2026 at Kidlington Fire Service HQ. The interview will include a series of questions and a short typing assessment
Appointment is conditional upon undertaking a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Closing date for applications is 30 August 2026
The anticipated start date will be confirmed following completion of pre-employment checks, including DBS and references.
