This company specialise in the design and manufacture of precision optical and engineering products, supplying leading organisations across a wide range of industries worldwide. Due to continued growth they are now looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their Quality team. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, including incoming goods, in-process, first-off, first article and final inspections. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams, you will ensure components meet the highest quality standards whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong mechanical inspection background looking to join a company that will invest in their professional development whilst offering long-term career progression.
THE ROLE:
- Carrying out incoming, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components and assemblies
- Operating and programming CMM equipment alongside conventional inspection equipment
- Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), inspection documentation and quality records
- Supporting supplier quality activities, non-conformance investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to maintain the highest quality standards
THE PERSON:
- Experience within Mechanical Inspection in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
- Experience using CMM equipment, including programming and operation
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience producing FAIRs and using a range of conventional inspection equipment
- Looking for long-term development and career progression within a growing engineering business
