We are working on behalf of a well-established, multi award-winning charitable organisation to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a small children’s residential home in Andover.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate leader in children’s residential care to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a nurturing, therapeutic home supporting young people aged 9–18 with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Service The organisation provides specialist residential and 1:1 support for young people with needs including ASD, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma-related behaviours.
The home is small and homely, supporting up to three young people, each with their own private space, alongside shared communal areas designed to promote safety, stability, and positive relationships.
The Role As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and outcomes for young people.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a therapeutic environment and is confident leading, motivating, and developing a dedicated staff team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Overall management of the children’s home, ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance
  • Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing safeguarding concerns and referrals
  • Leading, supervising, and developing the staff team to deliver high-quality care
  • Working closely with therapists, nursing staff, and external professionals to provide holistic support
  • Managing staffing rotas, budgets, and care planning
  • Building strong relationships with families, commissioners, and partner agencies
  • Preparing reports and attending reviews and meetings as required
What We’re Looking For Essential Criteria:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
  • Working towards or willing to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Previous experience as a Designated Safeguarding Officer
  • Experience writing reports and contributing to care reviews
