Residential Childcare Worker - Nights

£14.4 - £16.7 per hourEstimated
Full-time

Tucked away near Lennoxtown with open countryside all around, Finniescroft Farm is more than just a home. It is a place where children and young people can feel part of something, with space to grow and people to support them. We create a homely, therapeutic environment where young people can build confidence, explore new opportunities, and enjoy being involved in the community around them.

As a Night Support Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people to feel safe, settled and cared for throughout the night.

Working in one of our small, homely residential houses, you will provide calm, consistent support during the quieter hours. Our children live as part of the local community and attend our purpose-built school nearby, with a strong focus on structure, stability and positive outcomes.

What your day could look like

You will provide reassurance, emotional support and a steady presence overnight, helping children feel secure and supported. Your role will include:
* Supporting children to settle at bedtime and responding to any night-time needs
* Providing reassurance and comfort during periods of anxiety or distress
* Monitoring wellbeing and ensuring a safe, secure environment
* Accurately recording observations and key information from your shift
* Working closely with the wider team to ensure consistency of care and approach

Although you will work overnight, you will be fully integrated into the wider team, contributing to a shared approach focused on understanding behaviour, building trust and supporting the whole child.

About you

You will be calm, patient and able to respond confidently to a range of situations during the night. You will understand the importance of providing reassurance and maintaining a consistent, supportive environment. Ideally, you will hold an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3, with some experience in care or education, however we will consider candidates with the right values and willingness to learn. A full driving licence is essential.

What you will gain
* Health cash plan and employee assistance programme
* Discounts through Perkbox and Blue Light Card
* Ongoing training and development, including funded SVQ qualifications where required

This role requires membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or a commitment to achieve this within a defined timescale.

If you are looking for a role where you can provide meaningful support and make a real difference during the hours it matters most, we would love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your career.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.

CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations.
