Full Time, 37.5 Hours We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our team at Tees Valley Hospital based in Middlesbrough. As a registered Pharmacist, you will play a key role in supporting medicines optimisation and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines throughout the patient journey. Working closely with consultants, nursing teams, allied health professionals and pharmacy colleagues, you will contribute to delivering high-quality patient-centred care whilst supporting the continued development of pharmacy services within the hospital. The Role:
As a key member of the hospital leadership team, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of pharmacy services, ensuring the safe, effective and efficient management of medicines across Tees Valley Hospital. Working closely with consultants, nursing teams, allied health professionals and operational colleagues, you will provide professional leadership to the pharmacy team whilst driving high-quality, patient-centred care. You will oversee medicines optimisation throughout the patient pathway, from pre-operative assessment through to discharge, including medication review, medicines reconciliation, prescription review and, where appropriately qualified, prescribing activities. You will provide expert medicines advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across the hospital. The successful candidate will lead and support pharmacy staff in the delivery of procurement, stock management, dispensing and supply services, ensuring compliance with professional standards, legislation and hospital policies. You will play a pivotal role in medicines governance, supporting audits, medication incident investigations, learning reviews and the implementation of medicine safety alerts and recalls. You will be responsible for developing and supporting colleagues, promoting medicines-related education and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you will help drive service development, support the introduction of new medicines and therapies, and contribute to the ongoing success of the hospital's clinical governance agenda. A strong communicator and visible leader, you will champion excellent patient care, customer service and The Ramsay Way, ensuring our pharmacy service continues to deliver outstanding outcomes for patients and clinicians alike.
