We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join their team of staff in the Paediatrics department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include:
- Provide clinical leadership and expert oversight for all paediatric and CYP services within the hospital.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (CQC, NMC, national paediatric standards).
- Act as the hospital’s CYP safeguarding lead, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure robust safeguarding processes.
- Lead and manage the paediatric nursing team, ensuring safe staffing, skill mix, and rota management.
- Lead the development of the CYP service, ensuring it evolves in line with national guidance, patient needs, and organisational strategy.
- Build strong relationships with patients, families, and carers, ensuring effective communication and involvement in care decisions.
- Registered Children’s Nurse (RSCN / RN (Child)) with valid NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in paediatrics, including previous leadership or management roles.
- Strong knowledge of paediatric nursing practice, clinical governance, and safeguarding legislation.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex situations, and ensure high-quality, safe care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience in quality improvement, audit, and service development.
