School Cleaner
Location: Lanchester, County Durham Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:30am - 2:30pm (20 hours per week) Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Contract: Temporary Ongoing (Sickness Cover) Pay Frequency: Weekly
School Cleaner Required - Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for a School Cleaner to work within a school based in Lanchester . This is a temporary ongoing position providing sickness cover, with the potential for a long-term assignment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, and communal areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Cleaning and sanitising washroom facilities
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Dusting and wiping down surfaces
- Ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard
- Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate issued within the last 12 months, or registered on the DBS Update Service
- Completion of Safeguarding Training
- Completion of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) Training
- Completion of Ben's Law Training
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards
