About the role This is a practical, active evening role supporting our housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds teams across the property. It's not a front-of-house position — you'll be working behind the scenes to keep the hotel running smoothly, helping where the work is and making sure the building and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained at the end of each day. If you're someone who likes to stay busy, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, and takes satisfaction in leaving a place looking better than you found it, this could be a great fit. What you'll be doing Housekeeping Support Assisting the housekeeping team with linen runs, moving trolleys, and clearing rooms at the end of the day Stripping beds, collecting dirty linen, and supporting room turnarounds where required Cleaning and servicing guest rooms to hotel standard where required, supporting the housekeeping team during busy periods or staff shortages Collecting rubbish from guest floors and public areas and ensuring correct disposal Keeping service corridors, linen stores, and back-of-house areas tidy and organised Maintenance & Facilities Support Carrying out basic reactive maintenance tasks and reporting faults to the duty manager Supporting planned maintenance activities including minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep Moving furniture and equipment around the property safely and as directed Assisting with deliveries, stock movements, and equipment storage Grounds & External Areas Maintaining the appearance of external areas including car parks, entrances, and garden spaces Litter picking, sweeping, and keeping external areas presentable throughout the evening Reporting any external defects, damage, or safety hazards General Support Providing ad hoc support to other departments as directed by the duty manager Assisting with end-of-day close-down tasks across the property What we're looking for A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to take on varied physical tasks Previous experience in a maintenance, groundskeeping, cleaning, or general operative role is an advantage Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision during evening hours A good eye for detail — takes pride in leaving things in good order Comfortable working evenings including weekends What we offer Flexible zero-hours contract £12.71 per hour A varied, active role with no two evenings the same Friendly team and supportive management Benefits: Employee discount On-site parking Transport linksVacancy posted 28 days ago
