Group Head of Data, Financial Services - Guernsey/Jersey/IoM/UK

Our client is a Channel Islands based privately owned financial services group with a growing global footprint. As a part of their recent expansions, they are looking to create a new role of Group Head of Data. This role can be based in Guernsey, Jersey, IoM or UK.

The role-holder will be responsible for the Group’s core data capability, ensuring that it is a reliable source of information with easy access to the multiple offices in various jurisdictions. Lead the design and build of the data architecture that underpins the AI strategy, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and integrated with the broader data and technology estate.

Key criteria for the successful candidate will be:

• Significant experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics leadership, ideally within a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment. 

• Proven track record of owning enterprise data platforms – data warehouses, data lakes, and integration layers – from design through to operational management. 

• Strong hands-on technical skills across data modelling, ETL/integration, and reporting and BI tooling (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Power BI), alongside the ability to operate strategically. 

• Sound understanding of data governance, data quality, and lineage practices, and of data protection legislation relevant to a regulated financial services group. 

This is a senior leadership role working with the board and key senior stakeholders within the group.
