Digital Innovation Officer - Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council - Mossley Mill

About the role:
- £21.65 per hour
- Mossley Mill
- Monday to Friday, shift pattern 9:00pm - 5:00pm
- 37 hours per week
- Duration of post: Up to3 months with possible extension
- Please note closing date for this vacancy is 10am on Monday 27th July 2026
Duties include:
- To lead the design, implementation and project management of Digital Advancement initiatives across the Council area.
- Undertake direct engagement with businesses to identify and support them with project identification, development and funding opportunities.
- Manage section staff, as required, through the Council’s performance management process.
- Develop relevant content for innovative events and workshops.
- Identify and seek out appropriate opportunities for external grant assistance for programme participants.
- Manage the delivery of internal and external funding in support of the Council’s local Economic Development ambitions.
- Assist the Economic Development Manager in the preparation of accurate and timely reports for Committee and Council meetings.
- To deputise for the Economic Development Manager on any relevant Committee, group/company as deemed appropriate.
- To be available from time to time to carry out duties outside of normal office hours and in addition to basic contracted hours.
What you'll need for this role:
- Applicants must possess a degree or equivalent qualification
- OR possess 4years’ experience in delivering digital programmes to include 2 years of experience in a wide range of economic development activities
- Good planning and project management skills
- Creative and innovative to deliver service improvements
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Windows applications
