Fusion Fostering is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supervising Social Worker (Part-Time) to join our dynamic team committed to making a difference in the lives of children and families. This role offers the opportunity to provide critical oversight and support to foster carers while ensuring the highest standards of care are met. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of child welfare legislation, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. As a Supervising Social Worker at Fusion Fostering, you will play an integral part in supporting foster families through assessment, training, and ongoing advice, ensuring the wellbeing and development of the children in their care. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support foster carers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to children.
- Conduct assessments and home visits to evaluate foster carers’ suitability and ongoing performance.
- Provide training, guidance, and emotional support to foster carers to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive case records and reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to promote the best interests of the child.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and child protection procedures at all times.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to care planning and review processes.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience in supervising foster carers and working within child welfare or fostering services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding policies affecting children and families.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
