Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:

Join Marie Curie Belfast Hospice as a bank Hub Coordinator and play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional end of life care. As the central point of coordination within the hospice, you will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations, providing high-quality administrative support, coordinating communications and helping teams work effectively together to meet the needs of patients and their families.

What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as the first point of contact for referrals, ensuring patients are connected to the right Marie Curie services quickly and efficiently.
• Managing referrals from healthcare professionals, including GPs, hospitals, district nursing teams and other partner organisations.
• Coordinating referrals and enquiries received via telephone and email, delivering a professional and compassionate service at every interaction.
• Maintaining accurate records across multiple systems and databases, ensuring information is processed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Arranging and scheduling appointments, assessments and visits for patients and families accessing Marie Curie services.
• Working closely with Senior Nurses and multidisciplinary teams to support seamless care coordination and service delivery.
• Providing reassurance and support to callers, handling sensitive conversations with empathy, professionalism and confidence.

What We're Looking For

• Strong customer service experience, with excellent communication and telephone skills.
• Confidence using multiple IT systems simultaneously, with excellent digital and administrative skills.
• A highly organised approach, with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
• A compassionate, resilient and empathetic individual who remains calm and professional in sensitive situations.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys building positive relationships and contributing to shared goals.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering a consistently high standard of service.

Salary:  Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £12.92 per hour + enhancements

Contract:  As & When contract - must be available to work weekends on a rota

Based:  Belfast Hospice - 1A Kensington Road, Belfast, BT5 6NF
