Senior Software Project Manager
Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.
Reporting to the Account Director, the Senior Software Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of the TVMS (TfL Video Management System), managing internal, partner and customer stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multi-million-pound project budgets, overseeing financial performance and profitability, mitigating risk, and providing regular reporting and strategic updates to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
Working within an Agile environment, the role requires flexibility to travel between London (Canning Town & Feltham), Warwick and Bristol, with hybrid working available.
What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the TVMS project, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure delivery against agreed scope, quality, schedule and customer objectives.
- Own the commercial and financial performance of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, profitability and Profit & Loss accountability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and key stakeholders, acting as the senior point of contact and ensuring effective engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project, operational and financial performance reports to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders, providing clear insight and recommendations.
- Lead project governance, risk management and change control activities, ensuring contractual compliance and effective management of risks, issues and opportunities.
- Drive collaboration, alignment and performance across matrix-managed teams and external partners, resolving complex technical, commercial and operational challenges to achieve successful project outcomes.
Who you are:
This role would suit an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering large-scale, business-critical software projects. You are commercially astute, financially focused and confident operating at senior stakeholder and Board level. You excel at building relationships, influencing decision-makers and balancing customer satisfaction with strong commercial outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects within regulated, business-critical environments.
- Strong commercial and financial management experience, including multi-million-pound budgets, forecasting, cost control and P&L accountability.
- Experience presenting project, operational and financial performance to Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence customers, partners, suppliers and senior leadership teams.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional, matrix-managed teams, driving accountability and collaboration to achieve project outcomes.
- Strong understanding of project governance, commercial contracts, risk management and change control processes.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel regularly to Telent and partner locations.
