Head of Year 7 & 8 and Careers
From January 2027, Thornton College is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher and leader to serve as Head of Years 7 & 8 and lead Careers Education, information, advice and guidance across the Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form. The successful candidate will also teach PSHEE within the Senior School.
This is a part-time position, timetabled at 0.7 FTE.
Our 2024 CSI Inspection judged the school to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas and our most recent (2025) ISI inspection commented positively on the ‘rapid’ academic progress made by students across the school and the ‘high levels of self-esteem and self-confidence' evident in the student body. We are accredited by both NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education) and the British Council (International Schools Award) and in 2025 were shortlisted as Independent Girls’ School of the Year. The successful candidate can be sure of working with a team of extremely dedicated staff in a very motivating, forward-thinking school environment. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
