Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic

Technical Administrator to contribute to our Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

Role Purpose : The Technical Administrator will provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to the technical, engineering and project delivery teams. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation, coordinating technical

information, supporting reporting and governance processes, and ensuring that

records, drawings, trackers and correspondence are managed efficiently and in line

with business requirements

What you'll be doing

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the technical, engineering and

project teams.

  • Maintain accurate project records, document registers, drawing logs, action

trackers and technical files.

  • Coordinate the receipt, review, issue and filing of technical documents,

drawings, reports and specifications.

  • Support document control processes, ensuring that information is correctly

named, version controlled, stored and distributed to relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare and update project reports, meeting packs, work packs, trackers and

dashboards as required.

  • Liaise with internal departments, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and

clients to obtain information and progress outstanding actions.

  • Support procurement and commercial administration, including raising

requisitions, purchase orders and tracking supplier information where

required.

  • Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and follow up on agreed

actions.

  • Assist with compliance, quality, health and safety and governance

documentation, ensuring records are complete and up to date.

  • Upload, download and manage information within project management

systems, portals and shared workspaces.

  • Support the preparation of handover, completion, assurance or close-out

documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, templates and

document management practices.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience using document management systems, project portals or

collaboration platforms.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential or commercially

sensitive information appropriately.

  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external

stakeholders.

  • Understanding of technical documentation, drawing registers or project

controls processes is desirable.

  • Previous experience in an administrative, technical administration, project

administration or document control role.

  • Experience working within engineering, construction, infrastructure,

manufacturing, energy or a project-based environment is desirable.

  • Experience supporting technical teams, project managers or engineers would

be beneficial.

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel,

Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent, are desirable.
  • NVQ Level 3, business administration qualification, or equivalent experience

would be advantageous.
