We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA to join our team at Palethorpes Bakery. This is an excellent opportunity
for someone looking to build a career in Quality Assurance within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 18:00 - 06:00

Location: The Compleat Food Group, Palethorpes Bakery, Market Drayton, TF9 3AL

Salary: £33,000 per annum

Role Details:

As a Junior QA, you will play a key role in ensuring that all procedures relating to product quality, safety, and legality are
followed. You will support the QA team in maintaining high standards across site while developing your skills towards progression
into a Senior QA position.

* Ensure all QA schedules are completed accurately and on time, escalating issues where necessary
* Investigate and close out foreign body and non-conformance reports to a satisfactory standard
* Carry out basic traceability exercises
* Place materials and finished products on QA HOLD / Status 1, following through to release or rejection
* Review, log, and approve or reject concessions
* Conduct GMP and Black Bin audits, supporting and coaching operations on expected standards
* Manage glass, hard plastic breakages, and bodily fluid incidents in line with procedures
* Maintain audit schedules including glass, chill, and air monitoring
* Complete food safety testing in line with QA schedules, including:
* Environmental swabbing (hands, water, air plates, allergen, ATP, listeria)
* Product testing (microbiological, shelf life, nutritional, and QUID)
* Support adherence to all food safety and quality monitoring processes

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Effective time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Clear communication skills across all levels of the business

The ideal candidate will have skills around quality assessment and evaluation, product development, teamwork/collaboration and
strategic mindedness to support the Quality strategy and to interact with all key stakeholders to ensure changes are successful.
