Wellbeing Worker

£27.25k - £29.06k per annum

Salary: £27,254 to £29,064 per annum

Grade: F

Contract Type: Permanent

Vacancy Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire  

Are you passionate about supporting people to live independently and improve their wellbeing?

We are looking for a dedicated Wellbeing Worker to join our Care and Support team within Health and Adult Services.

As a Wellbeing Worker, you will provide direct practical and emotional support to adults receiving social care. Working under the guidance of qualified professionals, you will help individuals identify recovery-focused goals and connect with community resources to enhance their sense of purpose, identity, and self-esteem.

You will support people with mental health needs, those accessing community social care, and individuals involved in intermediate care. Your role will include:

  • Supporting daily living activities such as budgeting and domestic tasks.
  • Encouraging involvement in meaningful activities and education.
  • Promoting mental and physical health and wellbeing.
  • Building therapeutic relationships and helping individuals access community networks.
  • Acting as a safeguarding adult and responding to emergencies.

We are seeking someone with:

  • Experience in social care or community support settings.
  • Knowledge of local services and referral pathways.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships.
  • A Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), with a commitment to achieving Level 3.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • A non-judgemental approach and commitment to equality and diversity.

A full enhanced DBS check is required. You must be able to travel independently across a rural area and be flexible to work outside normal business hours if needed.
