An exciting opportunity to build and lead a new Employment department within an established Warwickshire law firm.

Our client is a well–established and highly regarded regional law firm with a strong presence across Warwickshire and a long–standing reputation for providing high–quality legal advice to both individuals and businesses.

As part of its continued growth, the firm is now looking to appoint an experienced Employment Solicitor to establish and lead a new specialist Employment offering.

This is a genuine opportunity to build something from the ground up, with responsibility for developing the practice, growing a team and helping shape its future direction.

The Role

You will handle a broad range of employment matters, covering both contentious and non–contentious work, while taking a lead role in developing the firm's new Employment offering.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own employment caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Advising both individuals and businesses across a broad range of employment matters.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Taking responsibility for the growth and development of the Employment practice.
• Supporting the recruitment of junior solicitors and paralegals as the team expands.
• Mentoring, supervising and developing junior members of the team.
• Contributing to the firm's business development and marketing activity.
• Working towards agreed financial and performance targets.
• Building strong internal relationships and identifying opportunities for cross–referral across the wider firm.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE who is ready to take a significant step forward in their career.

You should have:

• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of employment law.
• Experience managing your own caseload with a proven track record of achieving financial targets.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior lawyers or paralegals.
• Excellent communication and client–facing skills.
• A pragmatic and commercially minded approach.
• The confidence to develop relationships and contribute to business development.
• The ambition and leadership ability to help establish and grow a new department.

You don't necessarily need to have already held a formal Head of Department position . The opportunity could suit a Senior Associate, experienced Employment Solicitor or someone who has already taken on informal leadership responsibilities and is now looking for the autonomy to build and lead their own practice.
