About the Role

Are you ready to make a real difference as a Teaching Assistant?

Connex Education is working with a primary school based in Bromborough, on the Wirral, who are seeking a full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant to support in their Foundation 1 classroom, especially taking small groups for phonics.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with children within EYFS – either in a nursery or school setting- and have strong skills managing behaviour and have a good understanding of SEN needs.

Assignment Details

This role runs Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm). The position starts September 2026 and will continue until December 2026.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.

• Sound understanding of classroom roles, routines, and expectations, and how to contribute effectively to these.
• Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a school setting.
