TIG/MIG Welder - Redditch

Location: Redditch
Pay: £17.50 per hour during probation, rising to £18.00 per hour, plus a weekly shift allowance
Probation: 3 months
Shifts: Weekly rotating shifts - 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-12:00am

We're recruiting for a TIG/MIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing company in Redditch. This role offers strong hourly pay plus a shift allowance, and full training on robotic welding equipment for the right candidate - no prior robotic experience needed.

You'll be working on forging dies and tooling, using a mix of TIG, MIG, and ARC welding alongside a robotic welding arm, restoring and repairing components to a high standard. If you have solid TIG and MIG welding experience from a manufacturing or engineering background, we'd love to hear from you - whether or not you've used robotic welding equipment before.

Key Responsibilities

* Setting up and operating a robotic welding arm
* Applying multiple layers of weld to various forging dies
* Removing slag and debris from welded surfaces
* Preparing and cleaning surfaces between weld layers
* Completing the welding process until the impression within the block is fully restored
* Repairing different types of tooling
* Performing TIG, MIG, and ARC welding where required
* Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
* Maintaining safe and accurate work practices within a manufacturing environment

Person Specification
We welcome applications from candidates who:

* Have previous welding experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Possess TIG welding experience - essential
* Possess MIG welding experience - essential
* Have ARC welding experience (advantageous)
* Have experience operating robotic welding equipment (beneficial but not essential)
* Understand welding processes and preparation thoroughly
* Are eager to learn robotic welding techniques

Candidates with more basic welding experience will also be considered if they demonstrate the right aptitude and willingness to develop.

Pay & Hours

* Starting rate: £17.50 per hour during the 3-month probation period
* Post-probation: £18.00 per hour
* Plus a weekly shift allowance of £50.06

The role operates on weekly alternating shifts:

* Week 1: 6:00am-2:00pm
* Week 2: 2:00pm-12:00am

Applicants must be able to work both shifts on a rotating basis.
