IT Consultant

Our Client has a requirement for an IT Support Consultant , who will be required to work on a 12 month contract basis in Edinburgh.

Role Purpose:
• Provide critical IT support to business users, ensuring minimal disruption to day-to-day operations
• Deliver desktop hardware and software support across a global user base
• Manage incidents and service requests through a ticketing management system
• Support the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of end-user technology services
• Contribute to innovation and development projects to enhance IT support delivery

Job Role Responsibilities:
• Configure, deploy, image, and upgrade desktop and laptop hardware
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications and standard desktop packages
• Monitor systems and respond to Service Desk incidents and requests
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues both remotely and onsite
• Liaise with third-party maintenance providers when required
• Provide high levels of customer service and technical support to end users
• Support emergency response activities outside normal business hours when required
• Travel to other office locations to provide onsite technical support as necessary
• Participate in IT improvement initiatives and project work

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
• Proven experience in an IT support position with extensive customer-facing support responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience supporting users both remotely and in person
• CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness and ability to travel when required
• Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing/service management system
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline (desirable)
