We are currently seeking a Production Scientist I to join The Native Antigen Company Production Team at our Kidlington, Oxford location. This outstanding opportunity will allow you to be at the forefront of scientific innovation, contributing to groundbreaking research and development projects.

As a Production Scientist I, you will primarily be based within our Tissue Culture department, supporting a range of activities including suspension cell culture production, adherent cell and virus culture production, and bioreactor operations. While your main focus will be Tissue Culture, there may be opportunities and business needs that require you to support and receive cross-training in other areas, including bacterial production, protein purification, cloning, genotyping mastermix production, PCR testing, product aliquoting, and quality control testing. You will also assist with inventory management, database maintenance, and the receipt of incoming shipments. Comprehensive training will be provided to support your development and broaden your laboratory skills and expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out suspension cell culture, adherent cell culture, virus propagation and bioreactor-based production activities within the Tissue Culture department.
  • Support the following areas as required:
    • Production of bacteria at laboratory and manufacturing scale
    • Generate and purify recombinant proteins using established laboratory processes.
    • Perform plasmid cloning and support scale-up activities for recombinant production.
    • Mastermix production and PCR testing
    • DNA extraction
  • Prepare, aliquot, label and package products in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Perform quality control assays and accurately record and report results.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support stock control activities.
  • Manage laboratory databases and ensure production and quality records are maintained.
  • Receive, inspect and process incoming materials and shipments.
  • Undertake cross-training in additional production and quality activities to support business needs and personal development.

  • Educational background in a science-related field or relevant practical lab experience
