Employee Relations Lead, Executive Director

Job Description

Make a direct impact on how employees and managers experience the workplace. In this role, you will lead sensitive employee relations matters and investigations, helping the firm reach fair, consistent, and practical outcomes. You will partner closely with senior leaders across Human Resources, Legal, and control functions to solve complex people challenges with sound judgment. You will also shape how we strengthen our employee relations capability across the region.

As an Employee Relations Lead in Global Employee Relations, you will lead complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, helping us deliver fair, consistent, and practical outcomes. You will serve as a senior adviser to business and Human Resources leaders on investigations, grievance and disciplinary processes, conduct matters, organizational change, labor relations, and evolving employment law considerations. You will coach and develop employee relations professionals while strengthening case quality, governance, and risk management. You will help us identify trends and improve how we deliver a trusted employee and manager experience.

Job responsibilities 

• Champion the strategic direction of the Employee Relations function and deliver a trusted, consistent, high-quality experience for employees, managers, Human Resources partners, and control functions.

• Lead workplace investigations and Employee  Relations matters across EMEA driving the timely and effective resolution of employee concerns and workplace issues, while supporting more complex or high-risk matters as needed.

• Advise on investigation planning, evidence assessment, findings, and recommendations to support fair, consistent, and well-documented decisions.
• Serve as a senior subject matter expert on employee relations topics including grievances, disciplinary processes, conduct matters, labor relations, consultation obligations, and organizational change.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Global Security, Audit, Risk, Human Resources, and business stakeholders to assess and resolve employee relations matters.
• Guide Human Resources teams and senior leaders on policy interpretation and people risk, including workforce changes, employee transfers under applicable regulations, and mergers and acquisitions activity.
• Maintain robust quality standards for case management, documentation, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Coach and develop Employee Relations professionals, strengthening investigation skills and technical capability through feedback, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate globally to align regional practices, balancing consistency of approach with local legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify themes, trends, and emerging risks across case activity, providing insights and practical recommendations to stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, employee experience, and risk management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

• Significant, relevant employee relations experience.
• Experience leading complex workplace investigations end-to-end, including planning, interviewing, documentation, and findings.
• Experience managing sensitive, high-risk employee relations matters with sound judgment, confidentiality, and fairness.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, including grievance and disciplinary processes, conduct matters, and organizational change.
• Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders across Human Resources, Legal, and control functions.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, thorough case documentation.
• Proven ability to apply governance and quality controls to case management and decision-making.
• Experience identifying themes and trends from casework and translating them into actionable insights and improvements.
