Job Description

Start Here Grow Here

AECOM’s UK Transaction Advisory team is recruiting a Consultant / Senior Consultant, to join an established team.

Existing advisory mandates and the asset management of mandates in economic and social infrastructure requires the Transaction Advisory team to deliver a range of core project finance services, including PPP / PFI structuring; Lifecycle, Operational and Payment reviews.

As a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality advisory services across a broad range of infrastructure sectors. You will have the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in infrastructure reporting, project finance, asset management, and strategic advisory, while supporting the delivery of a growing portfolio of mandates for major infrastructure investors, lenders, and funding institutions.

Working within a collaborative and client-focused team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion, providing analysis, reporting, and strategic insight that enables clients to make informed investment and operational decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to broaden their infrastructure advisory experience and work on complex, high-profile projects with an international client base.

Here's what you'll do

  • Deliver infrastructure advisory assignments across a variety of sectors, including transport, energy, utilities, social infrastructure, and digital infrastructure.
  • Support the execution of project finance and asset management mandates, ensuring high-quality analysis and client deliverables.
  • Prepare and review financial, operational, and performance reports for lenders, investors, and funding institutions.
  • Assist clients with strategic decision-making through the provision of clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and value-added solutions for clients.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and the identification of new opportunities within existing client accounts.
  • Support the continuous improvement of advisory methodologies, reporting processes, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Mentor and support junior team members (Senior Consultant level), helping to develop technical and professional capabilities.

If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just construct infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives. Why not give our AECOM page on LinkedIn a follow to stay updated on the impactful projects we're working on and see firsthand the difference we're making in the industry!

Ideal candidates will possess some or all of the following:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, such as:

    • Civil Engineering

    • Project Management or other related infrastructure disciplines
  • Experience working on the development, delivery, operation, financing, or management of infrastructure or capital projects across sectors such as transport, energy, utilities, social infrastructure, real estate, or digital infrastructure.

  • Professional membership, or a clear commitment towards achieving chartered status, through recognised industry bodies including:

    • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
    • MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
    • CEng (Chartered Engineer)
  • An understanding of the infrastructure project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, operation, and asset management.

  • Experience interpreting technical, contractual, commercial, and project information to support decision-making and client advice.

  • The ability to analyse complex project data and communicate findings clearly through reports, presentations, and client discussions.

  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in the funding, financing, performance, and long-term management of infrastructure assets.

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including developers, contractors, investors, lenders, operators, consultants, and public sector organisations.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients and build trusted relationships.

  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a desire to develop technical expertise, broaden advisory capabilities, and contribute to the growth of a high-performing team.
