About Our Graduate Programme

  At BakerHicks we offer a dynamic two-year Graduate scheme - an exceptional launchpad for your career as a Sustainability Engineer.

Our program uniquely combines technical expertise with professional development through two enriching learning journeys. You'll dive into hands-on experiences alongside our industry-leading teams, equipping you with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in your engineering career.

From day one, you'll benefit from a personalised on-the-job training plan tailored to the Sustainability department. This approach will not only allow you to apply your technical knowledge in real-world settings but also provide ongoing support from experienced professionals.

You’ll actively contribute to a variety of projects, gaining invaluable experience every step of the way. We are also committed to enhancing your essential soft skills, ensuring you develop a well-rounded skill set that complements your technical abilities with effective communication, collaboration, and leadership.  

What You’ll Be Doing

• Working closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that sustainability targets are met, with an emphasis on delivering low-carbon buildings.
• Quantifying and analysing the carbon footprint of materials from extraction to end-of-life stages.
• Collaborating with design and engineering teams to identify low-carbon materials and construction techniques.
• Assisting to deliver the BakerHicks Sustainability initiative/business plan.

• Achieving a relevant MSc and/or BSc degree in Environmental Sciences, Geography, Architecture or Engineering.

Our commitment is to develop, train, and retain our graduates for the long term. Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels. 

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.
