Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Mid and East Antrim Borough Council as a Tourism Advisor with Admin and Box Office Duties, based in Ballymena. This customer-facing role will support the delivery of tourism services by providing high-quality visitor information, administrative support and box office assistance, helping to promote the local area and deliver a positive experience for residents and visitors alike. Location: The Braid, Ballymena Temporary for 3 months potential extension Great opportunity to work in the Public Sector Please note closing date for this vacancy is Tuesday 9th June. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors of the Visitor Information Centre within The Braid, Ballymena.
- General administrative duties.
- Dealing with visitor enquiries.
- Actively promoting local and regional tourism.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C, including English and Maths.
- 1 years' working experience dealing with the general public in a tourism environment.
- 1 years' working experience cash handling and recording in a commercial environment.
- 1 years' general administration experience.
- A good general knowledge of the local area and its attractions.
- A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
- Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis and ability to work additional hours as required.
