Pricing Methodology Actuary

This role focusses on wide range of topics covering data analytics and pricing methodology. Key accountabilities include:

• Strengthen NB Origination rigour by promoting consistent execution of pricing processes, governance requirements, and review frameworks.
• Build and maintain a strong governance framework for costing tools and best practices to achieve excellence, balancing local, regional and global requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of pricing methodologies, operating models and associated controls to improve effectiveness, transparency, and scalability.
• Partner with regional costing teams to identify improvement opportunities and support adoption of globally consistent practices whilst balancing local business needs.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve operational resilience, process adherence, documentation quality, and audit readiness across pricing activities.
• Collaborate with underwriting, valuation, risk, and business management teams to strengthen business steering.
• Efficient use of programming skills (R or similar) and technical knowledge to develop solutions relating to costing tools and its processes.
• Support in maintenance of pricing data requirements and engage with wider teams for improving data landscape and its quality.
• Collaborate and drive effective information sharing for L&H community. 

About the Team

You will be part of L&H Portfolio, Pricing & Performance (PPP), a global team focused on enabling sustainable business performance through effective portfolio steering, pricing governance, underwriting standards and business oversight. Working across markets and functions, the team drives consistent practices, operational rigour and informed decision-making to support the long-term success of Swiss Re's Life & Health business and contribute to making the world more resilient.

About You

• Qualified or nea rly qualified actuary with 4+ years' experience in the Life & Health insurance or reinsurance industry.
• Strong understanding of L&H pricing, underwriting, risk management or other actuarial frameworks.
• Experience contributing to the development and implementation of actuarial methodologies, governance frameworks, process improvements or best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in working with MS Office, Advanced Coding Skills (R Prog, VBA) with keen interest to develop further.
• Agile and flexible working style, with a proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and balance the need for adequate risk controls with commercial considerations
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

Compensation & Work Model 

For London, the base salary range for this position is between £62,000 and £94,000 for a full-time role.

• The applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills, experience and location. 

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
