The Opportunity

CRA Consulting are delighted to be working with a long-established and highly regarded regional law firm on an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join its Newark office.

The firm has a strong presence across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, acting for businesses, investors, developers, commercial property owners, farmers and private landowners.

This is an opportunity to join an established practice with a loyal client base, strong regional reputation and genuinely personal approach to its clients.

Salary is £50,000 - £75,000 depending on experience, with the position particularly suited to an experienced property lawyer looking for greater autonomy, direct client contact and a visible role within a successful regional practice.

The Role

Based in Newark, you will manage your own varied Commercial Property caseload, including:

• Commercial property acquisitions and disposals
• Landlord and tenant matters
• Drafting and negotiating commercial leases
• Lease renewals, assignments, variations and surrenders
• Property investment transactions
• Commercial development work
• Secured lending and property finance
• Easements, covenants and property rights
• Owner-occupied commercial premises
• Agricultural property and rural land transactions
• Advising farmers, landowners and rural businesses
• Complex and non-standard property matters

The firm has particularly strong relationships with businesses, agricultural clients and landowners across the region.

Agricultural property experience would therefore be highly attractive but isn't essential. The firm is equally interested in strong Commercial Property lawyers who would like to develop further expertise in this area.

Alongside running your caseload, there will be an opportunity to develop existing client relationships, build new contacts within the local business community and contribute to the continued growth of the department.

What Are They Looking For?

I am particularly interested in speaking with Commercial Property Solicitors with around 5+ years' experience, although the quality and breadth of your experience is more important than simply counting PQE.

Ideally, you will offer:

• Strong Commercial Property experience
• The ability to independently manage your own caseload
• Freehold and leasehold transactional experience
• Landlord and tenant expertise
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent client-care and communication skills
• A practical and commercially focused approach
• Agricultural/rural property experience would be advantageous
• An interest in developing long-term client relationships
• The confidence to contribute to the future development of the department

You may already be operating at Senior Associate level or be an experienced Solicitor who feels ready for greater responsibility and autonomy.

Equally, you may have reached a point where progression within your current firm has become limited and want to join a practice where your experience and ideas will be genuinely valued.

Working Arrangements

This position will be predominantly office-based in Newark.

The firm places real value on its lawyers working alongside colleagues, support staff and clients, so this isn't aimed at somebody seeking a predominantly remote position.

There can be sensible flexibility where required, but regular Newark office presence should be expected.
