Join Burton Waters Marina as a Boatyard Apprentice. Gain hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing marine engines and vessels, alongside boat valeting and marina operations. Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Your daily work will span a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Antifouling, preparing hulls, applying antifoul coatings and bottom paint.
- Boat polishing and detailing, compound and polish to a high finish standard.
- Boat valeting - interior and exterior cleaning to customer-ready standard.
- Keeping the boatyard, workshops and pontoons clean and tidy.
- Supporting senior engineers and technicians on complex jobs.
- Liaising with boat owners and hire customers professionally.

- The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Level 2 Engineering operations (Manufacturing and Maintenance pathway).
- The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
- This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln college 1 day a week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.
