ISQ Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively supporting a UK packaging machinery manufacturer with their search for a Mechanical Fitter . This is a hands-on role within a modern workshop environment, ideal for a skilled fitter who takes pride in build quality and attention to detail, while looking to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble machinery through to testing, commissioning, and pre-delivery checks.
• Service, rebuild, and support machinery within the workshop.
• Manufacture and fit mechanical sub-assemblies, chains, labels, and scales.
• Identify build issues, complete documentation, and maintain build quality.
• Support the training of new team members and contribute to continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or similar ( essential ).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or workshop environment ( essential ).
• Level 3 Mechanical qualification ( desirable ).
• Ability to assemble machinery and mechanical sub-assemblies from engineering drawings.
• Confident using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical fixings.
• Ability to identify build issues, fault-find, and maintain high build quality.
• Understanding of quality standards, documentation, and safe working practices.
